 El Quijote connects each exchange student with a host family living in Guanajuato. The host family provides housing and meals for the students, as well as friendship and emotional support. El Quijote reques each host family to meet certain requirements and conducts face-to-face interviews with each prospective host family candidate. The student's well-being, while in another country, is considered foremost.  Living with a host family is one of the most rewarding and unforgettable ways to become immersed into the Mexican culture. Living with a local host family allows for participation in the typical daily activities of a Guanajuato family and integrates an exchange student into the language and culture.
